Community Initiatives

Bring an idea, share your experience, or help a small team take its next step. ICCC welcomes research, professional learning, practical projects, and community connections across academic and industry interests.

The pathways below are invitations to propose activities, not scheduled programs or open project placements. Dates, team roles, resources, and any university requirements will be confirmed before an activity is announced.

Choose how you would like to contribute

Propose a session

Professional Connections & Leadership

Suggest a career conversation, alumni experience-sharing session, or peer discussion about teamwork, decision-making, and leading change.

Start small: one focused discussion, a volunteer host, and useful takeaways for participants.

Propose a pilot

Applied Projects & Innovation

Explore a practical problem with peers. Member-suggested examples include embedded-system prototypes and an AI vision sorting demonstration; these ideas are not yet launched projects.

Start small: define a user need, a manageable prototype, a project lead, and one measurable result.

Share a topic

Research & Knowledge Exchange

Suggest a paper discussion, methods demonstration, or research seminar. Connect published work with questions that matter to researchers and practitioners.

Start small: choose one question and a source to discuss. Explore the Research Library →

Suggest a gathering

Community & Peer Support

Propose an informal gathering or welcome conversation that helps current members and alumni stay connected.

Start small: identify a host, an accessible format, and interested participants. Any costs should be agreed before commitments are made.

Turn an idea into a manageable activity

  1. Define the need. Explain who benefits and what problem or learning goal the activity addresses.
  2. Agree on ownership. Identify a willing lead, team roles, a first deliverable, and a realistic time and resource limit.
  3. Confirm the plan. Check interest, permissions, privacy, and any applicable university requirements before announcing a date.
  4. Run a small pilot. Record what was delivered and collect feedback with participants’ consent.
  5. Review the outcome. Compare the result with the original goal, document lessons, and decide whether to repeat, adapt, or stop.

Measure what is useful

Choose measures that fit the activity: attendance and useful connections for a discussion; completion, time saved, or error reduction for a prototype; and learning feedback for a seminar. Record a starting point where relevant. No outcomes are claimed before evaluation.

Help shape the next step

You can propose an idea, volunteer to lead one activity, share expertise, or express interest in participating. Participation is voluntary; submitting an idea does not create a confirmed event, partnership, or research commitment.
